The bright orange form of the Helle Kosan will loom into view off St George’s this morning as the vessel arrives in Bermuda.
The LPG tanker will conduct a series of berth tests at the Oil Docks to ensure she can safely dock in the East End.
It’s the first time that the ship, which was built in 2010, will sail to the island.
Helle Kosan is only scheduled to be in Bermuda for between two and three hours conducting the landing exercises before she heads back out to sea again.
At the other end of the island today the two usual cruise callers, Norwegian Breakaway and Celebrity Summit, will be arriving for their three-day stops.
Tomorrow the Aghios Makarios will call into Five Fathom Hole to pick up two new crew members before continuing on her way to New Orleans from Rotterdam.
The new crew will be taken out to the bilk carrier by the pilot boat from Ordnance Island.
Finally, it’s a quieter weekend in Dockyard than normal, with just one cruise liner, Norwegian Dawn, arriving on Sunday morning.
