A mother of two was sentenced to two years’ probation by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner after she admitted possessing a six-inch knife and behaving in an threatening manner on January 16 this year.
Prosecutor Victoria Greening told Mr. Archibald that Leslie Dill, 25, of Sandys parish went to the place of employment of Kendra Rogers and told the woman “I’m going to kill you. You look like Yellow Man. I’m going to stab you in the eyes.”
She then proceeded to chase the woman while swinging the knife before she was restrained by one of Rogers’ co-workers.
Representing Dill, lawyer Elizabeth Christopher said her client had been bullied and tormented by Ms Rogers and she’d reached a breaking point. Ms Rogers’ boyfriend is the father of one of Dill’s children.
As she said she was not seeking a custodial sentence, Ms Greening said based on her social inquiry and psychological reports, Dill was willing to participate in services offered to her by the Department of Court Services.
Mr. Warner sentenced Dill to two years’ probation, ordered her to stay away from Ms Rogers and to abstain from drugs and alcohol consumption.
He also ordered she participate a violent offenders programme, lifeskills classes and any other programmes recommended by the Department of Court Services.
