Dominique Mayho and Nicole Mitchell were both pulled from the Pan American Continental Championships road race after slipping out of contention.
Mitchell dropped her chain on the first lap but chased back to the group only to be dropped when the peloton surged shortly after.
Mayho was dropped on the second lap of his race but was able to continue working with other competitors in the same situation. For both Bermudians it was a fierce race but one that helps them prepare for the Commonwealth Games.
While disappointed with her finishing place, Mitchell was pleased with her time trial result from Thursday and her ability to chase back in the road race.
For Mayho the positive from this event was being able to remain focused after being dropped and refocusing his training for the next major event.
Both athletes return to Bermuda today, while BBA President Peter Dunne will stay in Puebla for two more days to participate in a seminar hosted by the UCI where regional cycling federations will present on various topics ranging from youth development, anti-doping programmes and administration.
