Guns and ammo found (Update)

Police have found what they believed to be firearms and an undisclosed amount of ammunition near Somerset’s Long Bay Beach.

The items were found in an area of dense foliage, according to police, which was cordoned off while the area was forensically examined.

It was not immediately clear what kind of guns were found nor how many. The type and amount of ammunition were also unclear.

A pair of shootings has shaken the island in recent weeks. A Southampton man was shot to death April 23. The next week, a man was shot in St. David’s. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
