Passing seafarers slowed to catch a glance at the celebrations on Saturday as Lori Robinson and Dan Guerrard made their vows in a pirate-themed wedding at Spanish Point Boat Club.
Miss Robinson was brought to the wedding by a boat flying the skull and crossbones while her waiting husband-to-be Mr Guerrard looked every bit the pirate captain.
Many guests were also dressed for the occasion, including one costumed canine, and the music for the service was a series of sea shanty-styled instrumentals performed by 'The Salty Minnows'. Mr Guerrard had also arranged a version of the hymn 'Will Your Anchor Hold'.
A popular Saltus music teacher before his contract ended this year, Mr Guerrard and his new wife will leave the island on Monday. However, he took this last chance to lead his former class in a couple of songs after the ceremony.
To top it all off, the pirate newlyweds performed a 'first fight' instead of a first dance, much to the amusement of the guests.
