On Saturday at 10:08 pm, police were stationery at the junction of Montpellier Road and Middle Road in Devonshire, when their attention was drawn to a car that was travelling east along Middle Road. The car was being driven in a manner that raised the suspicions of the officers resulting in the officers following the vehicle on to Happy Valley Road.
The vehicle stopped and the driver was asked to get out of the vehicle. Once out of the car, the man was unsteady on his feet and exhibited overt signs of impairment. He was arrested for suspicion of driving whilst impaired. He then was taken to Hamilton Police Station where he failed the breath test and he was subsequently detained.
Meantime, on Sunday April 6th at 1:28am police were on static patrol on North Shore Road and Home Port Drive in Hamilton Parish when they had cause to stop a car that was travelling east along the aforementioned road at a high rate of speed. Once the man was pulled over officers began to communicate with the man and detected the smell of alcohol on his breath and his eyes were glazed.
He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol he was then taken to the Hamilton Police Station where he failed the breath test, he was subsequently detained.
