Kind-hearted friends of a mother-of-three who recently lost her husband have organized a fundraising evening to help her sons through school.

Colleagues of Tricia Hendrickson at Montpelier Re have rallied around the mother of three since the sudden and tragic death of her 39-year-old husband, Gareth, in July.

And they have joined forces with Mr Hendrickson’s old firms MS Frontier Re and Endurance to organize a trivia quiz night later this month to raise money for the Hendrickson Education Fund.

Mrs Hendrickson told the Bermuda Sun she had been overwhelmed by the support she had received.

She added: “I was back at work very soon after Gareth died.

“It needed to be done. I could not stay at home and I had to get the children back into some kind of routine.

“It made sense to come back to work and the support I have received has been phenomenal. I don’t know what I would do without them.

“They came to me with the idea of the fundraiser and it seems that everyone has got involved from allthree companies — they even formed a fundraising committee.”

The Hendrickson’s three boys; Malcolm, Nicholas, and Christopher all attend Warwick Academy.

All the funds raised by the quiz night, which takes place on Monday, September 23 at Docksiders, will go towards the boys’ education.

The event, which will include a silent auction and raffles, has been arranged by friends and colleagues of the Hendrickson family from Montpelier, MS Frontier and Endurance.

Joelle Turner from Montpelier Re said: “It’s been a real team effort.

“So many people from all three companies have helped out and made this event possible.

“Everyone knew that they wanted to do something to help Tricia and the family; it was just a question of getting together and organizing it.”
