Bermuda’s premier photo developers are moving to a more visible location. Bermuda Photo Craftsmen will be leaving its longtime Washington Mall home at the end of October.
The business should see an increase in traffic as it relocates to the high-visibility corner of Church and Queen Streets on November 1.
Owner David Sousa told the Bermuda Sun: “We’re going to be right on the street as opposed to being in the Washington Mall.”
He said people will be able to park on the street in front of the store and hop in.
Framing
Mr Sousa said business has changed quite a bit from when he originally owned it.
“We’re more into custom framing as opposed to small-sized printing. We still do that, but 20 years ago we used to do 120,000 rolls of film a year.”
He said the company had to change its business model as its lost 90 per cent of the film printing from 20 years ago.
“We now offer large format printing, photographic paper, canvas and water colour paper up to six feet. “The custom framing seems to be a saviour for us and has kept us afloat.”
