Love ice cream but don’t love all the calories and fat that come with it? Frozen yogurt might be just the thing you need.
Yo Cherry, Bermuda’s only self-serve frozen yogurt bar, was opened on Friday by Carlos and Regina Francis.
The business is located at 8 Bermudiana Road next to Nona’s Kitchen.
Some of the flavours include honey vanilla Greek, ooey gooey Cinnabon, dreamy dark chocolate, peanut butter, and strawberry.
Mr Francis said the idea was formed two years ago. He explained he and his wife both love ice cream, but decided frozen yogurt was a better fit for Bermuda.
“While researching the ice cream business, we visited a few self-serve frozen yogurt stores and thought this might be better, since it was not currently being offered in Bermuda.
Mr Francis said he and his wife researched the frozen yogurt industry and then wrote a business plan.
The hardest part was finding a name. Mr Francis said every name they thought of was already trademarked in the US.
“One day while driving, I am still thinking of names and Yo Cherry popped in my head.
“I called my wife and told her to do a trademark search on Yo Cherry and the closest she could find was Cherry Berry, so we decided, that would be the name.
“With limited resources, a strong will and a desire to see it through, we decided to pull the trigger.”

Hours are currently flexible and will be based on the demand.
