WEDNESDAY. JULY 11: There’s a flurry of military action in Bermuda’s waters this week as British and French vessels use the island as a resting post  their next destination.

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships, Argus and Fort Rosalie, have been in port since the end of last week.

RFA Argus has been alongside at the Commercial Berth in Dockyard and left the island yesterday bound for a deployment patrolling in the Caribbean.

While RFA Fort Rosalie has been anchored in the Great Sound for the last three days.

The British support ship was due to leave today bound for the UK.

As she leaves the small French patrol vessel La Tapageuse will come into Penno’s Wharf for a couple of days of rest and relaxation.

She is due to leave the island on Saturday.

And tomorrow St George’s will welcome the Edda Fjord, which is coming into Bermuda for a crew change.

Eighteen members of the present crew will leave the ship, while a further eight will join vessel and take her onto her next port of call in Louisiana.

Edda Fjord is due to leave the island on Friday afternoon.

As far as the rest of the week goes there’s plenty of container and cruise ships heading into Bermuda.

Celebrity Summit and Norwegian Star arrive in Dockyard today.

The Enchantment of the Seas will head into the West End on Saturday morning and will be followed into port on Sunday by the Norwegian Dawn.

Finally the Bermuda Islander arrives tomorrow and the Oleander makes up the week’s schedule coming in on Sunday afternoon.
