Viney rolls a big 700 series in Mixed Majors

Mixed Majors League
Matthew Viney is already in fine form as he rolled a 700 series in the Mixed Majors League.
Viney’s 704 topped the rest of the bowlers and he managed to do so without having one of the three top games.
Anthony Smith was second with a 686 while Jermaine DeSilva had a 684.
Vernon Daniels had the high game with a 259, just one pin ahead of Carl Reid while DeSilva rolled a 255.
Laura Simons was the top woman as she used her 236 as the building block for her 582 series. Juanita Darrell had a 233 game and 538 series. Also making the honours list were Shirley Tuzo (213) and Josie Richardson (541).

Second Spring Seniors
The New Comers beat the Drifters 3 to 1 to take over the top spot in the league after two weeks.
Sandra Brangman was the top bowler with a 248 handicap game and 656 scratch series. Amanda Broadley and Geraldine Lambert both rolled 236 handicap games. Rounding out the top series for women were Francis Baker (628), Judith Woolf (642) and Vera Sandy (642).
Barry Floyd was the top man with a 234 handicap game and 634 handicap series. Charles Charves had a 217 game which translated into a 612 series. McNeil Simmons (222), Bill Bryan (217), and Noel Pearman (626) also made the honours list.

Freisenbruch-Meyer League
The Cubs almost moved to the top of the league with a 25 to 5 victory over Odd Balls. That leaves them one game shy of The Invaders who beat New Hope 19 to 11.
‘Flash’ Furbert missed out on the men’s high game by one pin when he rolled a 225, but his 633 series led all bowlers. Phillip Francis and Eldon Landy both bowled 226 games while Renalda Bean knocked down 225 pins.
Francis had the second high series with a 610 while Bean rolled a 598.
Winnette Wellington bested all the women with a 229 game and 575 seriesCarolyn Welch’s 543 was good enough for the second high series by a woman while Prudy Spriggs rolled a 540.
Patrice Tucker (214) and Rochelle Harvey (207) had the second and third high games by women.

McQuinn Burch’s 245 game led all bowlers at Warwick Lanes on Monday night. Burch’s high game was 13 pins better than Carl Durrant’s 232. Aesop Smith rolled a 213.
Terrylynn Jones was the only woman with a 200 as she bowled 203. Malikah Symonds (187) and Tine Simms (184) were second and third on the women’s high games list.
Terence Minors had the high handicap series with a 694 with Burch a close second with a 677. Durant’s 631 was good enough for third on the men’s list.
Jones was the top woman with a 640 followed by Marilyn Simmons (628) and the evergreen Zina Jones (612).

Forty Plus kept their undefeated streak intact with a 4-0 whitewash of 80’s Babies. They lead the league by one game over Ink Spots.
Terence Minors was on fire and was the top man for scratch game (210), scratch series (560), handicap game (248) and handicap series (674).
Llewellyn Jones rolled a 191 scratch game while Tariq Hewey put down a 184.
Mansfield had the second high handicap series with a 665 which was followed by Wendell Smith’s 646.
Donna Trott nearly dominated the women’s honours list like Minors did for the men. She had the high scratch game (205), scratch series (510) and handicap game (245). Wendy Frith’s 660 was the top handicap series.
Melanie Burrows’ 195 was the second high scratch game and Yvonne Joseph had a 189. Deborah Jhuboo (653) and Kennelyn Smith (653) were second and third on the women’s handicap series list.

Marlins took sole possession of first place with a 4-0 pan frying of Dolphins.
Richard Zuill led all bowlers with a 253, closely followed by William Steede’s 246. Ivan Trott had a 234 for the third high game among Division 1 men.
Lucky Pitcher had a 207 to top the Division 2 men.
Corinne Durrant rolled a 209 to best all other women. Sandra Ford had a 188 while Lisa Saints bowled a 165 for the Division 1 women.
Felicia Stevens edged Gina Jones by one pin when she rolled a 187 to roll the high game for Division 2 women.
The high handicap series honours went to: Sandra Ford (626-Division 1 women); Felicia Stevens (678-Division 2 women); William Steede (722-Division 1 men) and Lucky Pitcher (658-Division 2 men).
