Bermuda will have two chances to win back its regional Under-15 title on home soil next month.

The island is hosting the ICC Under-15 Regional Championships from August 4-9 and has entered two teams.

The squad - the bulk of which is currently away at a training camp in Barbados - has been split into a first team and a development XI.

Bermuda has won the bi-annual event four times but lost out to U.S when the tournament was hosted in Florida last time.

Teams from the U.S., Canada, Cayman Islands and the Bahamas will be based at the Bermuda Regiment headquarters for the tournament, which will see three games played each day at various grounds around the island.

It's a round-robin format with each team playing the others once in 40-over matches.

BCB president Reginald Pearman said: "The ICC U-15 Regional Tournament will provide an opportunity for our boys to test their skills against some of the best players in the world in their age group.

"Tournaments like this allow our boys to experience other cultures and to make friends with their fellow players from around the world.

"This tournament is special because Bermuda will be playing at home with local support. We wish both teams all the best and encourage Bermuda to come out and watch these talented young players compete against the rest of the Americas Region."

He also thanked the Bank of Bermuda Foundation for their support of the tournament as well as Dunkley's, the Ministry of Transportation and Digicel for additional sponsorship.
