Ten Pins leap into first as Snipers fall to third

Pin Snipers fell from first to third as the East End Winter league opened play after the Christmas break. Ten Pins went to the top of the table with a 6 to three victory over Here We Come.

Elliot Douglas had games of 219 and 203 on his way to a 592 series. Lawrence Smith rolled a 206 and had a 548 series. Tim Lodge had a 526 series.

Rita Smith’s 183 game edged Shirlene White by one pin and Laurie Simons by two for high ladies game. Linda Simons had the high series with a 499. White had a 494 series while Simons had a 476.

Scores: 10th-N-Comin 2, Fireballs 7; Here We Come 3, Ten Pins 6; See-Breeze Strikers 5, TLC 4; Pin Snipers 2, Strike Squad 7; Spare Collectors 6, Trailblazers 3.

Barritt’s League

Pembroke Juniors huge win over Sparks helped them extend their league lead. Juniors won the match 29 to 1 while second place Haascobe won 24 to 5.

Harvey Willoughby used a 234 game as the foundation for his 572 series. Shane Williams topped 200 with a 209 while Gilbert DeCosta rolled a 207.

DeCosta had a 581 series and Antoine Jones rolled a 557 series.

Scores: P.H. Club 25, Bye 5; Haascobe 24, Team Bouchee 6; Sparks 1, Pembroke Jrs 29; Pin Raiders 15.5, Young Bloods 14.5.

Commercial Bowling League

BTC kept its slim one game lead over King Pins as both teams had 3-1 victories.

Wendell Smith rolled a 242 to lead all bowlers. The only other 200s were rolled by Raquel Furbert (215) and John Adams (204). Marie Ford (198), Geraldine Harris (187) and Junior Campbell (197) also made the honours list.

Wendell Smith had the high handicap series by a long margin as he rolled a 736. The next closest man was O’Neill Lindsay with a 622. Keith Lapsley rolled a 603.

Furbert was the top woman with a 653 with Marie Ford close behind at 646. Yvette Smith had a 631 handicap series.

Patrice Tucker and Robert Wilson both rolled 647 series. Tucker had a 246 game as part of her series while Wilson had a 244.

Winnette Wellington (232, 593) and Rochelle Harvey (205, 580) both made the ladies honours list. Harold Minors (243, 596), Troy Richardson (232) and Sheldon Thompson (578) did the same for the men’s list.

Armadillo Ladies Classic

Lucky Strikes stumbled this week in their bid to win the league title. They lost 17 to 3 to Classy Ladies who now trail first by 24.5 games. Florence Simons had a 216 game and 584 series. Grace Brito barely missed out on a 200 with a 196 while Thalia Lightbourne had a 195.

Tiffany Caisey had a 556 series with Pat Price third at 543.

Scores: Lucky Strikes 3, Classy Ladies 17; Fresh Blood 3, Rude Girls 17; Strike Zone 7, Upstarts 13; Chages 14, Hot Tamales 6.
