Sweet Life savours 3-1 victory over King Pins

Commercial League

How sweet it is when you topple the king.

That’s exactly what Sweet Life did when it defeated King Pins 3-1.

O’Neil Lindsay had the highest handicap series with a 674. Keith Lapsley edged Kalvin Simmons by one pin (618 to 617) for second high on the men’s list.

While Lindsay had a superb game of 212, it was Wendell Smith with a 216 who had the high mark. Wayne Raynor’s 199 left him one pin short of the 200 club.

Doreen Smith was the top woman with a 190 scratch game and 659 handicap series.

Tine Sims (189) and Kennelyn Smith (182) were also on the high game list for the ladies. Kennelyn Smith also made the handicap series list with a 607 while Racquel Furbert had the second high honours with a 610.

Fishbowl League

Amberfish stretched its lead with a 3-1 triumph over Mackerel as Goldfish lost by the same score to Wahoo.

Richard Zuill eked out the high game honour with a 238 as Ivan Trott (233) and Vernon Daniels (231) were not far behind.

John Thorne’s 203 was good enough to lead the Division 2 men.

Sandra Ford was the top woman with a 202.

Cathy Kemp (195) and Rita Smith (193) had second and third high honours while Corrinne Durrant and Karen Landy shared the top spot among Division 2 Women with a 178, one pin ahead of Joan Hollis.

Durrant had the high handicap series for women with a 664. Prudy Spriggs (634), Sheila Easton (631) and Hollis (631) also rolled well.

Thorn’s 679 topped all the men with Lucky Pitcher (661) and Mansfield Alen (663) also made their mark.

Barritt’s League

PH Club’s chances of winning the league title are probably done after they lost 24 to 6 to Haascobe.

The victory leaves PH Club nearly 50 games behind Haascobe with nine weeks to go.

Haascobe has a 28 game advantage over Pembroke Jrs as they head down the home stretch.

Dean Lightbourn rolled a 225 on his way to a 635 series. Ivan Trott had the high game with a 243 as he bowled a 604 series.

Vernon Daniels also did himself proud with a 221 and 565.

F-M Continental League

Cubs clawed their way to a 27 to 3 victory over Pinjammers as they continue to run away with the league title.

Wassy Smith rolled a 264 for high game honours. He went on to bowl a 640 series. Sheldon Thompson had a 233 game as the foundation for his 639 series while Jaron Tucker had a 232 and 610.

June Pitt’s 211 and 573 was top for high game and series among the women.

Kathy Christopher and Marjorie Armstrong both rolled a 203 for second high honour.

Patrice Tucker (558) and Rochelle Harvey (554) had the second and third high series.
