Sweet 16 for dominant Activators

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12: Activators maintained their lead in the Mixed Majors Bowling League with a 16 to 4 triumph over bottom club Troublemakers.

The victory saw Activators increase the lead slightly to 18.5 games over Mini Max Forwarders.

Multi-sports star Carl Reid rolled a 279 game on his way to a 729 series to lead all bowlers. Matthew Viney also a big night with a 246 game and 688 series. Renalda Bean had a 258 game while Kevin Swan had a 682 series. 

Carla Whitehurst led the ladies with a 215 game and 564 series. Myrna Outerbridge also had a good night with a 205 game and 558 series.. Roslyn Simmons (204 game) and Jennifer Stovell (557 series) also made the honours’ list.

Warriors League

Mohawk and Choctaw are keeping their running battle at the top of the Warriors League. Both teams won 4-0 this week leaving Mohawk with a 1.5 game lead.

Eldon Landy led all bowlers with a 231 scratch game. Gilbert Trott missed the 200 mark by two pins while Gregory Focke bowled a 195.

Zurai Abbott’s 207 was the top game by a woman. Flow Simons rolled a 173 while Katrina Caines had a 146. 

George Dowling had a 705 handicap series to lead all Warriors. Tremayne Bean was the second high man with a 669 while Heman Smith made the honours list with a 640.

Miriam Caisey had the high handicap series by a woman with a 673. Alisa Cann and Audrey Gordon both had a 620. 

On Friday the league is having its annual turkey shoot.

FM-Continental League

Cubs slightly increased its lead with a 23 to 7 triumph over Pinjammers at Warwick lanes. Second place Quickie Lickie Laundry also had a big night with a 21 to 7 victory over last place Nifty Rollers.

Gregory Simons rolled a 248 game on his way to a 667 series but Christopher Leverock had a bigger night as his 241 game served as the foundation for his 683 series. Greame ‘Flash’ Furbert rolled a 230 game. Sheldon Thompson also made the honours list with a 657.

Pat Price rolled a 194 game on her way to a 557 series to lead all the women. Lee-Ann Bean had the high game with a 197 while Kenneisha Simmons bowled a 191 game.

Marjorie Armstrong’s 535 was the third high series for women.

Second Spring Seniors

Islanders were able to cut into Go Get It’s lead with a 3-1 win over Blue Angels. Go Get It tumbled to a 3-1 defeat to Drifters.

Bill Bryan had the high scratch game with a 193 followed by Barry Floyd (162) and Llewellyn Jones (160). 

Carol Tyrell had the high scratch game by a woman with a 163 followed by Judith Woolf (159) and Janice Warner (157).

Floyd had the high handicap series with a 693. He was followed by Bryan (654) and McNeil Simmons (636). 

Warner’s 661 was good enough to lead all the women with Woolf just 24 pins back. Sandra Brangman and Erva Hassell both rolled a 635.
