Spicenix bring down leaders

Pinsplitters run to the Continental League title hit a pothole last week as Spicenix took them down 19 to 11. That allowed Pinjammers to gain seven games on them.

Kenneth Simmons (244) and Pebbles Tucker (237) had the high games while June Pitt (639) and Skeets Zuill (647) had the high series honours.

Commercial League

BTC reached out and touched Double Trouble in 3-1 victory. BTC's win moved them to within half a game of the league leaders.

Marie Ford (187) and Malcolm Woodley (224) had the high scratch games. Gearldine Harris (645) and Wayne Raynor (603) had the high handicap series honours.

Chris Smith had the only other 200 with a 203.

Mixed Majors

Gang in Blue is beginning to stamp its authority on the league. The team outbowled True Mix 14 to 6 while second place Fight Back lost by the same score to Troublemakers.

Anthony Smith and Jermaine DeSilva led a strong night of individual scores with 247s. Damien Matthews had a 238.

The women's high game was rolled by Juanita Darrell, who had a 243. Joan Burgess (214), Brenda Burrows (206) and Olivette Armstong (206) also had 200s.

DeSilva led all bowlers with a 643 series. Bruce Benevides had a 621 and Stephen Paul a 611.

Armstrong was agonizingly close to a 600 series, missing it by just two pins. Darrell (584) and Pat Price (541) were the next two top series.

Armadillo Ladies Classic

Lucky Strikes sliced five games off the Classy Ladies lead.

Lucky Strikes trebled Changes 15 to 5 while Upstarts played Classy Ladies to a 10-10 draw.

Norma Smith rolled a 230 game, besting Bobbie Jones, who had the next highest score, by 18 pins. June Pitt rolled a 204 to get over the 200 mark.

The top series was rolled by Jones, who had a 581. Smith rolled a 561 while Marj Correia rolled a 543.

Scores: Hot Tamales 17, Quiet Storm 3; Strike Zone 9, Fresh Blood 11; Classy Ladies 10, Upstarts 10; Changes 5, Lucky Strikes 15.
