Sparks jumped out to the early lead in the Barritt's League. The club beat The Old & The New as the season started last Saturday at Warwick Lanes. Haascobe was also a big winner as they took down Young Bloods 26 to 4 with a series of 2,671.

Perennial powerhouses PH Club and Pembroke Jr's locked horns with Juniors getting the best of their title rivals 22 to 8. The two clubs had the first and second high team series with Juniors rolling a 2,905 to PHC's 2,724.

Team Bouchee defeated Logic Rollers 21 to 9 in the other match.

Woody Jones showed early season good form with a 631 series to top all keglers. Bowling legend Dean Lightbourn had a 587 and Vernon Daniels rolled a 582.

Dennis Trott's 237 was good enough to edge Peter Winsby by one pin for high game with Sheldon Thompson earning third high game with a 233.

TBI Men's Classic league

Damien Matthews rolled a 255 on his way to a 648 series to best all the rest of the bowlers on the opening night of play.

David Maycock had a 634 series while Douglas Hines rolled a 632. Conrad Lister (247) and Leroy Ming (238) had the other high games.
