Smith leads Braves into first place

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30: Colonial Braves moved into first place all by themselves in the Commercial Bowling League with a 4-0 victory over the Royal Gazette.

The Braves used Doreen Smith’s high game of 215 to help power them to the victory.

Zina Jones rolled a 192 while Wendy Smith’s 182 was good enough for third.

BTC’s Wayne Raynor had the high game for a man with a 202.

Jache Adams had a 191, 10 pins better than third overall Wendell Smith.

High handicap series honours went to Smith with a 670, while Melvern Williams rolled a 639.

Chalene Thompson (627), Shayna Hendrickson (621), Raynor (634) and Antar Smith (614) also made the honours list.

Continental League

Cubs went to the top of the Continental League with a 28 to 2 thrashing of Odd Balls.

The Cubs used a league high 2,880 series to down their opponent.

Patrice Tucker and Troy Richardson both rolled 256s to have the high game for women and men.

Harold Minors bowled a 254 while Anthony Hayward was not too far behind with a 252.

Peaches Perinchief (205) and Edna Mae Tuzo (204) made the games honour roll for women.

Tucker had the high scratch series honour with a 696, while Perinchief rolled a 561 and Wellington a 550.

Richardson was the top man with a 674 while Minors (646) and Hayward (624) were second and third.
