Small's big game helps his team roll to victory


Habetes took advantage of Spare Collectors and won all nine games in their East End Winter League at Southside Lanes.

Elliot Douglas had a big, big night. Not only did he roll the high game of 267 (and oh so close to perfection) he also had the second high men's game of 212 and a series of 655.

Brion Estis hit 200 exactly while Beth Stovell's 221 and 539 led the women. Joanne Wellman (199 and 502) and Jennifer Butterfield (183 and 496) were the second and third high games and series for the ladies.

Estis (553) and Tim Lodge (549) also made the high series list.

Fishbowl League

David Small was the big man as he rolled a 267 game, which translated into a 315 with his handicap. Small's handicap series was four pins shy of 800. He wasn't the only bowler rolling hot at Warwick Lanes as Ted Swiss (234), Carlos Estravit (230), Stephen Paul (223) and Bobbie Ingham (201) all rolled 200s.

Other top women included: Judy Aldred (187), Rosesheene Smith (182), Barbara Smith (180), Prudy Spriggs (180) and Marj Correia (178).

Correia walked off with high handicap honours with a 659 followed by Rebekah Darrell (618), Aldred (614) and Spriggs (612).

Besides Small, the top men's handicap scores were bowled by Swiss (690), Estravit (682), Richard Zuill (654), Joe Lam (634), and Lionel Cann (631).

Continental Bowling League

Pinjammers sent Odd Balls to the bottom of the tables after knocking them down in a 28 to 2 victory. New Hope helped themselves by beating Quickie Lickie Laundry 19-11.

Jaron Tucker had a 227 game to lead all bowlers, but also joining the 200 club were Michael Lambe (208), Harold Minors (200) and Hilton Hayward (200). Jennifer Stovell just missed out with a 199, but she was the top woman bowler. Pebbles Tucker (181), Maryann Wilson (173) and Prudy Spriggs (173) also rolled well.

Lambe had the high series with a 567 but Stovell was right behind him at 560. Tucker (554), Hayward (539), Tucker (486) and Marjorie Armstrong (484) were all in the top three.

Barritt's League

Pembroke Jrs flattened Southside One 29 to 1 as they stretched their lead to over 10 games.

Antoine Jones led all bowlers with a 245 while Dean Lighbourn had a 234. Kevin Swan rounded out the top three with a 212. Lightbourn barely missed out on a 600 with a 595.
