WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22: The bright red hull of the Boa Sub C could be seen off St David’s at the weekend as the vessel called into Bermuda for a crew change.
The ship, which supports oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, arrived at Five Fathom Hole at first light on Sunday.
The pilot boat sailed out to meet the Malta-flagged ship with 19 new crew who had flown into the island.
They boarded the Boa Sub C at 6:15am and replaced 17 departing crew who were brought back into Bermuda.
The ship then continued on her journey back across the Atlantic to Cyprus.
The Boa Sub C has 105 single cabins as well as a cinema, gym and sauna for the permanent residents.
She is also fitted with a heliport so crew and specialist workers can be flown in.
The ship is currently being used for the offshore installation activities of the Blind Faith oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico.
Meanwhile, elsewhere this week there are the usual cruise liners and container ships.
The Norwegian Star and Celebrity Summit head into Dockyard today.
The Bermuda Islander arrives in Hamilton tomorrow.
And this weekend will see a further two cruise ships, Enchantment of the Seas and Norwegian Dawn, descend on the West End.
Finally the Oleander will be back in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
