WEDNESDAY, SEP. 26: All eyes will be on the Seasprat today as the tanker makes her way into the Oil Docks off St George’s.
Last week Butterfly was left stranded at Murray’s Anchorage for nearly four days as two of the Government tugs were out of action.
She eventually came alongside on Saturday morning to deliver fuel for BELCO when the emergency tug Edward M Stowe joined Powerful to see the tanker into her berth.
Seasprat is bringing diesel, jet fuel and gasoline in for Esso, and her crew will be hoping that both tugs are still up and running when she comes into Bermudian waters this afternoon.
Meanwhile there will be three different cruise ships arriving on the island in the next two days.
The Norwegian Star and the Explorer of the Seas get into Dockyard this morning and will both be here until Friday.
While the German cruise ship Aida Luna will anchor in the Great Sound tomorrow morning, as there is no space for her in Dockyard.
She’s only in for the day and her 2,000 passengers will be tendered into Hamilton during the course of the day.
Aida Luna will leave the island at 5pm bound for New York.
On Sunday the Enchantment of the Seas will sail in to Dockyard from Baltimore to replace the midweek cruise ships.
Finally the two container ships, Bermuda Islander and Oleander, make up the schedule for this week.
The Islander is in tomorrow while the Oleander arrives in Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.
