WEDNESDAY, SEP. 11: It’s business as usual for the island’s container and cruise ships this week, as they try to get back on track after Tropical Storm Leslie.
The tropical storm only put a slight dent into the schedule with most vessels simply opting to come in a little later than planned.
The Oleander was the first ship in after Leslie brushed passed Bermuda and made her way towards Newfoundland.
She got in on Monday morning and new food and supplies were hitting the supermarket shelves by the afternoon.
The Norwegian Dawn also arrived in a day late, coming into Dockyard on Monday afternoon.
She’s staying an extra day on the island and will be anchored in the Great Sound today until she leaves this afternoon.
The Somers Isles schedule was put back just a couple of hours by the storm and she arrived in Hamilton at around midday yesterday.
Today the Norwegian Star arrives in Dockyard and she’ll be joined by the Explorer of the Seas.
It’s the Explorer’s 23rd trip to the island of the year but the first of eight two-night stays in the West End.
Until now she has either just stayed a day or overnighted in Dockyard.
The Bermuda Islander is in as usual tomorrow.
Then this Sunday the Enchantment of the Seas and the Norwegian Dawn will return to Bermuda for their 22nd visit of the year each.
Finally the Oleander should be back on track this weekend and get into Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.
