Quickie Lickie taken to the cleaners

Spicenix were threatening to run away with the Freisenbruch-Meyer Continental League, when they ran into Nifty Rollers last week.

The next to last place Rollers put up a stiff challenge as Spicenix held on to win 15.5 to 14.5 but that allowed Pinsplitters to close the gap with a dominating 27.5 to 2.5 triumph over Quickie Lickie Laundry. Pinsplitters now trail the leaders by just seven games after taking Quickie Lickie to the cleaners.

Winnette Wellington rolled a 235 on her way to a 613 series. Rochelle Harvey had the top series by a woman with a 623, which she used a 229 as her foundation.

Shirley Tuzo (217 game) and Kathy Christopher (554 series) also had good scores on the night.

Phillip Francis was the top man in both categories with a 255 game and 673

series. Stephen Paul rolled a 229 on his way to a 653

series. Skeets Zuill (243) and Bruce Benevides (634) also made the honours list.

Commercial Bowling League

Do It Best didn't live up to its name and Double Trouble did. The two top teams in the league faced off with Trouble cleaning up with a 4-0 victory to extend their lead to six games.

Chris Leverock led all bowlers with a 234 game. Junior Campbell (223) and Albert Gordon (215) also had 200s. The top female bowler was Corinne Durrant with a 173, barely edging Sharon Gibson by one pin. Weneika Steede had the third high game with a 169.

Donna Johnson (602) and Gordon (688) had the high handicap series. Durrant (601), Wolette Darrell (595), Jache Adams (660) and Campbell (629) had the rest of the high handicap series.

Mixed Majors

There were plenty of 200s to go around at Warwick Lanes with Alpheus Santucci scoring the high game honour with a 253.

Jermaine DeSilva and Damien Matthews both rolled 246's with DeSilva reaching the magical 700 series mark with a 707.

Jennifer Stovell (233), Shirly Tuzo (226) and Juanita Darrell (213) were just some of the other 200s rolled.

Tuzo had the high series for women with a 623 with Stovell (579) and Debbie Ball (515) taking second and third high honours.

Barritt's League

Dean Lightbourn rolled a 244 game as he bowled a 628 series. LeVinc Samuels had a 225 as the basis for his 588. The second high game and series went to Damien Matthews (226) and Gladwin Harvey (594) respectively.

Fishbowl League

Rebekah Darrell (199), Corinne Durrant (194), Yvonne Joseph (190) and Rosesheene Ottley (190) all reached the 190 mark in a close battle for top honours.

Ronnie Dimapolis was close to a perfect game with his 268 to top all the men. Some of the other 200s were rolled by Alpheus Santucci (247), Lucky pitcher (203), Patrick Walker (232), Elvin Thomas (222), Albert Bothelo (216).

Thomas had the high handicap series with a 740, with Dimapolis a close second with a 728.

The top woman was Darrell (631) but Joseph was just five pins behind. Other 600s were bowled by Beulah White (611) and Karen Simmons (607).
