WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21: The state-of-the-art cruise liner Poesia will sail into Bermuda later this week for her second trip to the island.
Poesia, which means ‘poetry’ in Italian, made her inaugural visit to the island last year.
The 2008 vessel is owned by MSC Cruises and can accommodate 2,500 passengers.
The 964-foot ship boasts multiple on-board amenities, including a waterfall with bridges in the foyer, a Zen garden in the sushi bar and a 12,000 square foot spa.
Poesia is scheduled to arrive in Dockyard on Saturday from the Azores and will be here for a day.
She heads to the Caribbean on Sunday afternoon.
There are other cruise ships arriving on the island this week.
Arrivals
The Veendam arrived in Hamilton yesterday evening after a brief stop at Murray’s Anchorage on her way through.
Today the Norwegian Gem and the Carnival Pride arrive in Dockyard for two days.
On Sunday the Norwegian Dawn will make her 18th trip of the year to the island, from Boston.
Tropical Storm Maria forced the Somers Isles to leave the island late last week and as a result she will be arriving a couple of days behind schedule on Friday morning.
But the Bermuda Islander has made up for lost time and will be back on her normal Thursday morning arrival slot this week.
The Oder Gas is also back in Bermuda to deliver Liquid Propane Gas.
She visits each quarter and will arrive at the Oil Docks in St George’s on Friday before leaving the next day for the Bahamas.
