WEDNESDAY, APR. 4: St George’s should welcome its first cruise ship of the season on Good Friday if the weather is kind.
Retailers were given permission to open their doors on the religious holiday last month, so tourists will be able to take advantage of the shops and craft stores.
The Azamara Journey is scheduled to arrive in Hamilton tomorrow from the British Virgin Islands.
And then she will head up to St George’s on Friday morning at 6:30am as long as the winds don’t get up too high.
The cruise ship, which holds around 730 passengers, will leave Bermuda on Saturday morning bound for Boston.
Meanwhile there are two other cruises ships in this week.
Hamilton visit
The Silver Cloud arrived in Hamilton yesterday morning from Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
The small liner, which carries just 260 passengers, was only on island for a matter of hours and left for Funchal in Madeira at 6pm yesterday evening.
Tomorrow the Ryndam and her 1,380 passengers will sail into Dockyard for her first and only call of 2012.
Day tripper
The ship, which is owned by Holland America, is scheduled to arrive in from Tampa at first light and leaves later the same day bound for St Milo inFrance.
All three containers ships are also in this week.
The Somers Isles gets in today and leaves on Thursday, while the Islander is due into Hamilton tomorrow morning.
Finally the Oleander should come into the capital on Sunday afternoon.
