MONDAY, MAR. 5: Sunday’s Latter Rain Water Service Mountain Bike Race at Admiralty Park proved to be the most thrilling in the series, providing excitement for both riders and spectators.
Riders were treated to an authentic mountain bike race course, designed by Fat-Tire Massive, which included 150 feet of decent on steps to the beach and 90 per cent inclines.
Dominic Mayho continued to dominate keeping the class A riders at a fiercely fast pace. He was hotly pursued by second place Mark Hatherley who was kept on his toes by third place Dexter Swan.
Mayho won all seven races in the series to take the Men’s A title.
Daniel Oatley led the Men’s B class followed by Padraig Browne in second place and Anthony ‘Rico’ Smith in third.
Oatley, 15, won the last two races in the series to take the Men’s B title over Padraig Browne.
In the Men’s Novice category, Philando Hill stayed out front, followed by second place Chris Roque and Kyle Adams in third.
Hill won four of the seven races to take the overall men’s Novice title.
Sarah Jordan took honours in the Women's A class. In the Female Junior Division, 13-16 years Gabriella Arnold led the way followed by second place Tristan Narraway and third place, Elizabeth Jordan.
Arnold and Jordan won their respective classes for the series.
In the Male Junior Division, 13-16 years, Robin Horsfield took class honours, followed by Christian Oatley and Matthew Oliveira, who moved up a class, in third place. Horsfield was second overall in the class behind Daniel Hetzel.
In the 12 & under class, Alex Aroujo had a strong finish over second place Alex Bordage and third place Manny Smith. Matthew Oliveira was the overall class winner.
Alyssa Rowse was the overall class winner for the Girls 12 and Under.
