Maycock said: "Tell him I'm catching him. The young guns are catching him."
He rolled his fourth perfect game of his career, the second one this year. Maycock was participating in the American Airlines Tournament at Warwick Lanes last week.
"This one I felt more nervous because my girlfriend Stacy DaPonte was there," Maycock said. "She made me nervous because she was nervous. This was the last game of the series. People were coming up to me saying 'Go all the way; Go all the way. ' Everybody else was finished and they were watching me. They were behind (lanes) 11 and 12 behind the desk. All eyes were glued on me. All of my 300s I felt nervous, but this one I felt more nervous because my girlfriend was watching me and there was a lot of pressure on me because a lot of people were watching me.
"I was able to execute because I've been there before.
He said the only strike he was worried about was the last one.
"I sent the ball wide and the ball reacted, flipped and I hit the pocket."
For his efforts, Maycock pocketed $168 for the evening and will be in with a shout for the tournament final, which the top prize is a pair of plane tickets from American Airlines.
