Marlins reel off big victory against Amberfish
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9: Marlins did themselves a favour — and the rest of the league — when they knocked off the Fishbowl League’s first place Goldfish 3-1. Goldfish now lead second place Amberfish by a game while Hog Fish are now three back with Marlins six behind.
Elvin Thomas led all bowlers with a 238 game, edging Carlos Estravit by a pin for high scratch game honours. Mark Basden had a 231 while Gladwin Harvey rolled a 217.
Cathee Tumbridge’s 206 was tops amongst the women with Rebekah Darrell bowling a 195 and Lisa Saints a 193. Corrine Durrant (189), Lynn Cann (186) and Rita Smith (183) also etched their names into the score sheet.
It was a close battle for the high handicap series honour but Cann emerged on top with a 684. Darrell’s 670 was second overall while Joseph Benevides was the first man at 660.

Continental League
Quickie Lickie Laundry were pressed hard by Pinjammers who came away with a 22 to 8 win. The big victory allowed Jammers to make up 18 games on the leaders and now trail by just 16.
Anthony Hayward was on fire as he rolled a 250 game on his way to a 676 series. Renald Bean translated his 234 into a 648 series while Woody Jones (231) and Skeets Zuill (663) also made the honours list.
Kenneisha Simmons was the top top woman with a 232 and 644 while Peaches Perinchief had a 213 and 531.
Winnette Wellington (189) and Pebbles Tucker (513) also made the honours list.

Mixed Majors
Strikers had the upset of the week as they defeated Unpredictable 17 to 3. They are now within striking distance of jumping into seventh place.
David Maycock had a 246 game, which was 10 better than Robert Dill. Vernon Daniels rolled a 232.
Jennifer Stovell was the top woman as she rolled a 218 on her way to a 552. Kathleen Christopher (213), Fhia Sherlock (208), Patricia Price (533) and Carla Whitehurst (526) all made the honours list.

Barritt’s League
The top two teams met last week with Pembroke Jrs emerging with a slim 17.5 to 12.5 victory over PH Club. Juniors now leads the league by over 40 games.
Willoughby Harvey had a 221 game to best Jermain Desilva for top honour by three pins. Gilbert DeCosta rolled a 216.
Christopher Leverock rolled a 618 to have the highest series but Hilton Hayward was not too far behind with a 601. DeSilva had a 591 series.
