League races all but over


Ten Pins are on the verge of being crowned The East End Winter League champs after a 5-4 victory of Here We Come. The team has a 15 game lead with 18 to play.

Dennis Trott was in excellent form as he rolled both a 218 and 209 on his way to a 573 series. Terence Minors had a 190 game while Paul Simons (516) and Douglas Evans (496) also made the honours list.

Joanne Wellman was the top woman with a 22 game and 562 series. Red Welch (202) also bowled a 200. Sandra ford used her 193 to roll a 494, but it was Laurie Simons (495) who had the second high series for a woman. Barritt's league

Three weeks to go, but it would take an improbable collapse for Pembroke Jrs not to win the league. They are up by 86.5 games with 90 to go. Last week they won 25-5 while second place P.H. Club stumbled to a 14-16 loss. Dean Lightbourn almost added to his perfect game tally with a 279. He ended up rolling a 740 series. Marvin Harvey (246, 673) was also in good form. Lamar Richardson (246) and LeVinc Samuels (672) also made the honours list.
