Ladies, Splitters win league titles

All the drama in the Classy Ladies and Lucky Strikes match-up for the Armadillo League title was wiped out early as the Ladies went on to a big 16 to 4 triumph. The Ladies ended up winning the league by almost 25 games.

The other drama was the cellar battle as Strike Zone got off the floor and cooled off the Hot Tamales 17 to 3. The victory moved them out to last place by just over five games.

Carla Whitehurst had the high series with a 590 as she used her 215 as the foundation for it. Juanita Darrell had the high game at 222 and ended up with a 567 series. June Dill (558) and Laura Simons (204) also made the honours list.

Scores: Classy Ladies 16, Lucky Strike 4; Hot Tamales 3, Strike Zone 17; Upstarts 8, Fresh Blood 12; Changes 13.5, Quiet Storm 6.5.

Standings: 1. Classy Ladies 404; 2. Lucky Strikes 379.5; 3. Upstarts 317; 4. Fresh Blood 296; 5. Changes 291.5; 6. Quiet Storm 247; 7. Strike Zone 235; 8. Hot Tamales 229.5.

Continental Bowling League

Pinsplitters won the league title by downing Pinjammers 20 to 10.

Harold Minors finished off the season in style with a 253 game and 609 series. Michael Lambe's 219 helped propel him to a 624 series. Anthony Smith (237) and Troy Richardson (613) had the second high men's game and series respectively.

Patrice Tucker's 224 turned into a 629 series. Kathy Christopher had a 228 and 618. Winnette Wellington had a 200 while Rochelle Harvey rolled a 538 series.

Scores: Pinjammers 20, Pinsplitters 10; Cubs 15, Spicenix 15; Bermuda Pest Control 26, Quickie Lickie laundry 4; Nifty Rollers 22, New Hope 8; The Invaders 20, Odd Balls 10.
