Kelly barely misses perfection with 277 game

Ten Pins recovered first place when they beat Strike Squad 7 to 2 in the East End Winter league at Southside Family Bowl. Pin Snipers slipped back into second in spite of beating See-Breeze Strikers 5-3. Up-N-Comin delivered a blow to Here We Come's title hopes. The last place team beat Here We Come 7 to 2 to drop them 14.5 games off the pace.

Walter Jackson had the high game with a 238. MaryEll Jackson had the next best score with a 224. Other 200s were rolled by Elliot Douglas (221) and David Signor (215). Joanne Wellman (188) and Hazel Lodge (174) were the next top women.

JR Smith had the high series with a 565 with Walter Jackson second with a 550. Douglas made the honours list with a 544. Maryell Jackson was the top woman as she reached 500 exactly. Wellman (492) pipped Laurie Simons by one pin for second.

Mixed Majors

It might easy to get confused when Mix Ups take on True Mix in the Mixed Majors League, but one thing was clear: the winner. Mix ups dominated as they beat True Mix 19 to 1.

Fight Back remained on top of the tables as they gave a similar 19 to 1 lashing to Untouchables.

Wayne Kelly missed out on a perfect game with a 277 game. Kelly's been hot as he barely missed out on a 300 the previous week at Warwick Lanes. Carl Reid had a 259 on his way to a 663 series. Anthony Smith continued his smooth bowling with a 257, which he rolled into a 671 series. Robbie Dill also had top marks with a 257 and 661.

Roslyn Simmons was the top woman with a 231 and 642. Barbara Robinson notched a 200 with a 210. Jennifer Stovell (206) also topped the 200 mark.

Edna-Mae Tuzo (544) and Stovell (543) had the next two high series.

Amardillo Ladies Classic

Classy Ladies beat Fresh Blood 15 to 5 but saw their lead cut slightly as Lucky Strikes won 16 to 4.

Traci Lambe had a 202 game on her way to a 584 series. Pat Price took her 201 and made a 575 series out of it. Josie Richardson rolled the high game with a 224 while Kathy Christopher had the third high series with a 555.

Scores: Strike Zone 3, Changes 17; Upstarts 14, Quiet Storm 6; Classy Ladies 15, Fresh Blood 5; Hot Tamales 4, Lucky Strikes 16.

Correction

Lamar Richardson beat David Maycock in the Rendezvous Tournament and took second place overall in the men's division.
