Ingham and Maycock win Rendezvous titles

The Bermuda Bowling Club held its annual Open Doubles and Singles Tournament this past weekend, with the stepladder finals for both the top five men and women being held on Monday night. This year saw the majority of the prize money stay in Bermuda.

For the women, there was a tie for fourth place, which saw last year's Champion, Maria Ward, from Philadelphia, lose to Patrice Tucker 188-161. The next match saw Tucker lose to June Dill, 184-182, then Pat Price defeated June Dill 194-165 to put her in the finals with Bobbie Ingham who became this year's champion by defeating Price 210-181.

For the men, the first match saw Chris Maycock and Kevin Swan tie 178-178 which required a 10th frame roll-off, which Chris then won 38-36. The next match saw Chris lose to Jackie Miller 202-171. Jackie then went on to defeat Dean Lightbourn 207-186. In the final match David Maycock defeated Miller 171-166.

Both Ingham and Maycock received $400 plus a watch from Crissons, 2nd places received $200, 3rd places $150, 4th places $100 and 5th received $75 each.

There were 100 Doubles entries, which saw the top prize of $2,000 go to Lanan Bascome and Bobbie Ingham with a score of 1,348. There were168 singles entries, with the top prize of $1,000 going to Chris Maycock, who bowled a 712.

East End Winter League

With nine weeks to go in the season, Habetes is making a push for second place. They beat Here We Come 9-0 to close within two points of Spare Collectors, who lost 5 to 4 to Trailblazers.

Top team Pin snipers kept their stranglehold on the lead with a 7-2 thrashing of Up-N-Coming.

Other scores saw Fireballs defeat TLC 7.5 to 1.5 and See-Breeze-Strikers edging Ten Pins 5-4.

Elliot Douglas rolled a 246 game and 614 series while Laurie Simons had a 199 game and 549 series.
