WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7: Hurricane Katia has already begun to bite the shipping schedule with a string of cancellations and delays.
The fallout from the storm means the arrival and departure times for many vessels are subject to change.
The Norwegian Gem has cancelled her trip to the island.
She was due to arrive in Dockyard today but has now taken her passengers south to the Bahamas to avoid the storm.
The Summit arrived a day early yesterday and it looks like she could be making a sharp exit and leaving on Thursday instead of Friday.
The Veendam’s schedule has been unaffected by the incoming weather at the moment.
Cars
She arrived in Hamilton on Tuesday as per normal and is due to head home to New York on Friday.
Earlier this week the Enchantment of the Seas cut short her two-day stay in the west end by a few hours due to the weather.
Later in the week the car carrier Triton Ace is expected to arrive in Hamilton to deliver 44 new cars.
She was initially due to arrive on Friday evening, but the schedule is uncertain at the moment.
It will largely depend on how Katia develops.
The Bermuda Islander now looks to be making good time after the overtime ban was lifted.
The container ship looks set to arrive on Thursday morning.
Finally, the Norwegian Dawn remains on schedule to arrive in Dockyard on Sunday.
