THURSDAY, MARCH 15: The finest voices of Harvard University performed in various places across in the island with a mix of music from the 1940s and 1950s.

The Harvard Din and Tonics joined the Harvard Krokodiloes and the Radcliffe Pitches for spring break in Bermuda, an annual event.

On Tuesday, the groups performed at a free concert at the Anglican Cathedral during the lunch hour.

The groups share the same style of toe-tapping music including jazz, swing, ballads and more from America’s golden age.

On Tuesday evening, the Din and Tonics performed at Waterlot Inn much to the delight of guests.

They performed a few sets in different parts of the restaurant with songs like ‘Ring a ding ding’, ‘I’ve got my fingers crossed’, ‘Sordid Affair’ and ‘Anything Goes’.

The men were dressed to the nines with tuxedoes, white shirts, vests and bowties.

The best part for me was when they sang “Putting on the Ritz’, one of my favourite songs when I was in a choral group in high school.

Grant Jones, 20, from Boston and Sam Schoeberg, 20, from New York both spoke of their love for Bermuda.

Jones said: "This is my second time coming here and getting a chance to just relax.

“To come to the beautiful sun is nice.

“We have always got a nice, warm welcome from the people and the Fairmont so it makes the performances easy.”

Schoeberg said: “We come for the beaches and the beautiful weather but we stay for the people.

“The people are warm and welcoming.

‘This is my third year in a row.”

Asked if the performance is unique to Bermuda, Jones said: “The guests get a pretty authentic experience.

“If anything, it’s more exciting because we’re in a new place.

The Din and Tonics are in Bermuda until Saturday.
