WEDNESDAY, FEB. 22: Bad weather put the Nord Princess behind schedule this week as she brought in fuel for BELCO.
The Danish-flagged tanker was due to come into the oil docks off St George’s at the weekend.
But gale force winds forced her to delay her arrival and remain anchored off St George’s at Murray’s Anchorage for a couple of days as the weather passed.
The ship was eventually able to come alongside Tuesday afternoon and begin siphoning off her fuel cargo.
She remained docked off Ferry Reach today and is scheduled to leave the island later this afternoon.
Oleander
The bad weather also meant that the Oleander arrived on Sunday — ahead of her Monday morning winter slot — in order to avoid the worst of the gales and thunder storms.
Today the Somers Isles arrives in Hamilton from Florida.
The stevedores will spend the day unloading the ship before she moves down to number seven dock for a day to make way for the Bermuda Islander, which arrives tomorrow morning.
Once the Islander has been unloaded and restocked with empty containers, she will leave Bermuda at around 8am on Friday. At this time the Somers Isles will return to number eight dock for the dock workers to finish unloading and re-loading the empties.
