WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26: Pillars of the business community were on hand today at the opening of the Bermuda Business Hall of Fame.
Sir John Swan and Sir David Gibbons helped unveil a plaque at City Hall dedicated to Bermudians who have paved the way in the business sector.
Both are recipients along with Sir Henry Tucker and Brian Duperreault.
The Bermuda Employers’ Council created the Hall of Fame.
Keith Jensen, BEC president, said: “Sir John, Sir David, Brian and Sir Henry span generations, have diverse opinions, have different managing methods and opened in different economic sectors and sometimes have had different visions about Bermuda.
“But here are, I think, some similar threads of purpose for which we should express gratitude.”
After unveiling the plaque, Sir John said: “We thank the Bermuda Employers’ Council for starting this Hall of Fame.
‘We thank the Corporation for providing the lobby to put this plaque for the recognition of our respective contributions and we hope they will continue to see many faces to represent business activity that has helped to build Bermuda as a whole.
“We look forward to making out contributions and the continuing progress Bermuda can make and will make in the future. “
