Fireballs enjoy scorching victory

Haascobe upsets leaders

Fireballs burned up Trailblazers in a 9-0 victory, which saw them increase their lead in the East End Winter League.

Dennis Trott had a 221 game and 535 series to lead the men while the top woman was MaryEll Jackson with a 214 and 538.

Alfred Wright rolled a 195 on his way to a 532 series while Elliot Douglas (191) and Derwin Smith (521) also made the men’s honours’ list.

Laurie Simons had a 485 series, which was based on her 183 game. Beth Stovell (189) and Carolyn Welch (504) also made the honours’ list.

Barritt’s League

Haascobe beat leaders Pembroke Jrs 16 to 14 to slightly close the gap in the title race.

Vernon Daniels bowled a 222 game as the foundation for his league-leading 606 series. George Ben had the high game with a 227, which he converted into a 599 series.

Robert Wilson (219) and Anthony Zuill (594) also earned honours.

Commercial Bowling League

Do It Best downed Sunset 3-1 to pick up two games on leaders BTC and King Pins.

Terrlyn Jones won top game honours with a 180 scratch, edging Tiffany Glasford by one and Malikah Symonds by two pins.

Geraldine Harris took high handicap series kudos with a 605, two pins ahead of Veney Sims and Kendelle Smith.

Wayne Raynor and Robert ‘Dixie’ Symonds both had 190s to lead the men while Albert Gordon had a 181.

Albert Gordon’s 603 was good enough to be the top handicap series. Symonds was second with a 592 and Sean Perinchief and Aesop Smith finding their way onto the honours’ list with a 575.

F-M Continental League

A huge victory could have helped Cubs get enough breathing wrong towards the league title. Instead they were doubles up by third place Pinsplitters 20 to 10 and saw second place Spicenix gain 16 games on them.

Cubs still have a comfortable 20-game advantage but they can’t continue to stumble like that if they want to hold onto first place.

Patrice Tucker rolled a 215 game as the foundation for her 560 series. Francs Trott and Edna Mae Tuzo both rolled 189s. Joan Thompson and Kathy Christopher earned honours for their respective 515 and 497 series.

Harold Minors led the men with a 225 game and 604 series. Bruce Benevides turned his 217 game into a 600 series while Wassey Smith was third overall with a 212 game and 582 series.

Armadillo Ladies Classic

Lucky Strikes extended their lead when they beat second place Classy Ladies 12.5 to 7.5.

Kathy Christopher was high woman with a 235 game and 601 series. Flo Simons had a 212 on her way to a 526 series. Tiffany Caisey (551), Rochelle Simons (526) and Fhia Sherlock (211) all made honours.

Scores: Fresh Blood 3, Upstarts 17; Lucky Strikes 12.5, Classy Ladies 7.5; Hot Tamales 17, Strike Zone 3; Rude Girls 16, Changes 4.
