Cubs and Quickie Lickie to face off for Continental League title

WEDNESDAY, APR. 18: The Ninth Annual Corporate Bowling Tournament is scheduled for May 18 at Warwick Lanes.

The scratch tournament will see teams of five compete with just one league bowler allowed per squad.

The entry fee is $250 per team. Entries close on May 11. For more info, e-mail [email protected].

Cheques are to be payable to the Bermuda Bowling Federation.

Barritt’s League

Pembroke Jrs picked up all 30 points in a victory against the Bye team. The Juniors, which had already won the league title, extended their lead to over 100 games against second place PH Club.

Dean Lightbourn rolled a 244 game on his way to a league high series of 648. LeVinc Samuels also rolled a 600 series as he bowled a 607. Gladwin Harvey picked up third high series honours with a 584.

Hilton Hayward rolled a 224 while both Michael Smith and Anthony Zuill rolled a 211.

Scores: Pin Raiders 24, PH Club 6, Pembroke Jrs 30, Bye 0; Young Bloods 15, Team Bouchee 15; Haascobe 22, Sparks 8.

Continental League

Quickie Lickie Laundry and Cubs face each other down for the league title on Monday, but it is going to be a tough uphill climb for the baby bears to win the crown.

Quickie Lickie have a 22 game league and just need to grabs 4.5 points out of 30 to secure the championship.

In this week’s bowling, Kenneisha Simmons led all women with a 216 game but Patrice Tucker (212), Karen Simmons (202) and Kathy Christopher (202) all topped the 200 mark.  

Tucker went on to roll a 544 series with Pat Price (538) and Simmons (535) close behind her.

Anthony Hayward was the top man with a 257 game and 659 series. Renalda Bean also rolled well with a 245 game as the basis of his 629 series. Dayvon Tucker (22 game) and Gregory Simons (639) also made the honours list.
