Cubs and Invaders split points in top of the table clash

Renala Bean bowls a 265 game

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 21: The two top teams battled in the Freisenbruch-Meyer Continental Bowling league and they came out with an even split of the points.

Both Cubs and The Invaders each came away with 15 games. The draw kept Cubs 11.5 games ahead of The Invaders.

The lanes were rolling well as there were plenty of 200s. Renalda Bean led the way with a 265, but Harold Minors was close behind with a 256. Sheldon Thompson was the third high man with a 243.

Patrice Tucker was the top woman with a 253. Joan Thompson (235) and Rose Brangman (216) were the second and third high women respectively.

Minors had the high series with a 685, followed by Thompson (675) and Eldon Landy (594).

Tucker’s 596 was enough to be the best woman with Thompson (563) and Gina Coddington (559) right behind her.

Scores: Cubs 15, The Invaders 15; New Hope 20, Quickie Lickie Laundry 10; Spicenix 23, Pinsplitters 7; Pinjammers 20, Bermuda Pest Control 10; Odd Balls 19, Nifty Rollers 11.

Fishbowl League

Rockfish took all four games from Hog Fish to maintain a three-game lead over Marlins, who also won all four games last Friday night at Warwick Lanes.

In Division One women, Patrice Tucker had the only 200 scratch game as she rolled a 203. Cathee Tumbridge had a 195 while Sandra Ford bowled a 189.

Donna Doyle had the top handicap series with a 689 followed by Prudy Spriggs (635) and Sandra Ford (630).

Gina James was the top Division Two woman with a 231 scratch game and a 672 handicap series. Yvonne Joseph rolled a 209 scratch while Peggy Mello had a 194.

Shiela Easton’s 658 handicap series was good enough to edge Karen Perinchief by three pins for second.

Carl Durrant had the high scratch game for Division One men with a 247. Joshua Bento had the second high game and rolled the high handicap series with a 745.

Alpheus Santucci (212), Bobby DeGraff (686) and Durrant (675) filled out the rest of the men’s Division One honours list.

Tim Doyle’s 181 was the top Division Two man in scratch games. Matthew Tumbridge (157) and Lawrence Hall (149) were second and third.

Hall had the high handicap series with a 646, followed by Doyle (621) and Russell Harvey (592).
