WEDNESDAY, APR. 11: The heavy lift ship Panagia is currently steaming towards Bermuda with a brand new crane for the docks.
The ship originates in Rotterdam in Holland and is carrying two state-of-the-art dock cranes on board.
She is due to arrive into Hamilton tomorrow, but her arrival could be delayed by bad weather out in the Atlantic.
The Panagia will remain in Bermuda for a couple of days while the already assembled new crane is transferred on to the dockside.
She will then sail off to Mexico to deliver the second crane.
Meanwhile, the cruise season is beginning to get into full swing.
The Explorer of the Seas arrived in Dockyard on Monday from Cape Liberty in the US for a one-night stay.
She is back again on Saturday complete with the Harley Davidson-driving group of cruise passengers who go by the name of ‘Hogs of the Sea’.
Today the Seven Seas Navigator is scheduled to leave Hamilton and head east for St George’s.
Retailers in the Old Town will be hoping that the weather does not stop this cruise ship from getting through Town Cut, as it did the Azamara Journey last week.
The Seven Seas Navigator will leave Bermuda later today bound for Charleston.
Finally, the Bermuda Islander gets in tomorrow and the Oleander is due to arrive in Hamilton on Sunday evening.
