FRIDAY, AUGUST 12: A birthday fundraising concert is being held for road accident victim Dion Ford this Saturday.
Ford and his best friend Lonario Simmons survived a serious accident on Father’s Day. He was flown overseas for surgery treatment at Mass General and Spalding Rehabilitation in Boston.
CKC Corporation will host a second Spotlight for a Cause event at Whitney Institute school hall to assist Ford’s medical expenses.
More than 100 people have come together to perform, organize, promote and manage the event for Ford. Each event has featured local talents including gospel, reggae, hip-hop and dance. Saturday’s event is called Stage Leads and will feature numerous artists including Sia Spence, Maurita Andre, Zion, Kombat and the III Kings. Freddie Mallory, Seventh Day Adventist Choir and Blac.
To make the event extra special for Dion’s birthday which falls on August 19, the Bermuda Gombeys will also perform.
The doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 7:30pm.
Advance ticket price is $10 for children and adults $15 at Kit & Caboodle right now. Door price is $10 children, $20 adults or $30 VIP. Purchase a four-night ticket bundle for $50 or $100 (VIP) ticket.
