BTC ringing in the new year in first place
It will be a happy Christmas for BTC, who will end the year in first place for the Commercial Bowling League. The team beat Sunset 3-1 in Monday’s bowling and will start the new year one game ahead of King Pins.
Jaime Ford managed the only 200 game with a 219 as Alvin Outerbridge fell just two pins short of the mark and Junior Campbell was three pins shy.
Doreen Smith’s 174 was good enough to top all the women. Sharon Gibson had a 165 and Christine Adams rolled a 164.
Smith also had high handicap series honours with a 625, which was 11 pins in front of Marilyn Simmons. Kendelle Smith rolled a 595.
Outerbridge was the top man with a 638 followed by Hewvonnie Brown (624) and Junior Watts (620).

Cubs have a 30 game lead as second place Pinsplitters lost 17 to 13 to Spicenix.
Clyde Burgess had the high game with a 246. Wassy Smith’s 234 was rolled into a league high 622 series. Anthony Hayward (236 and 575), Stephen Paul (596) and Harold Minors (575) also made the honours list.
Rochelle Harvey had a fantastic night in having a 225 game and 576 series to lead the women. Kathy Christopher (212, 559) and Patrice Tucker (206 and 562) also had double honours.

Pin Snipers shot down Trailblazers 9 to 0 to pull within a game and a half of first.
Matthew Viney rolled a 236 to take high game honours. Elliot Douglas (226) and Derwin Smith (203) also rolled 200s. Carolyn Welch was the top woman with a 212 followed by Linda Simons 9198) and Sandra Ford (192).
Douglas had the high scratch series with a 603, besting Vinney’s 586. Smith had a 553.
Rita Smith had the top series for a woman with a 541. Welch (538) and Simons (515) were second and third respectively.

Pembroke Jrs and Haascobe keep flip-flopping the top two positions with Juniors going into the Christmas break in first.
Dean Lightbourn led all bowlers with a 246 game and 603 series. Peter Winsby rolled a 217 game on his way to a 576 series. Ty Williams (222 game) and Vernon Daniels (561 series) also had a good night at Warwick Lanes.
