BTC dials up big win in Commercial League

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 25: A whitewash of Gard Do It Best, helped BTC extend its lead in the Commercial League. BTC now have a 4.5 game advantage over The Royal Gazette.

O’Neil Lindsay’s 222 was enough to edge Matthew Taylor by a pin for the high scratch game. Kenny Ford rolled a 214.

Sandra Ford was the high woman, missing her 200 by one pin. Kendelle Smith rolled a 186 while Tiffany Caisey had a 183.

Sandra Ford also had the high handicap series among the women with a 639 while Julie Thomas (621) and Terrylyn Jones (615) were also on the honours’ list.

Lindsey had the high handicap series for men with a 693 with Ford a distant second at 637. Taylor’s 623 was good enough for third.

Continental League

Quickie Lickie Laundry increased its lead by 14 games when it defeated New Hope 25 to 5.

Harry Bean Sr rolled a 246 to have one of his best games of the season. Anthony Hayward had the high series with a 669. Quinton Mallory rolled a 245 game on his way to a 608 series.

Also rolling well were Jaron Tucker (234) and Alfred Wright (596).

Pebbles Tucker was the top woman as she used a 242 game as the building block for her 577 series. Marie Richardson also had a very nice night as she rolled a 207 as she built a 532 series. Carolyn Welch (203), Pat Price (525) and Peaches Perinchief (525) also made the honours’ list.

Mixed Majors

The battle for first continues to be a two-team affair with Gang in Blue getting the better of Fight Back this week.

Gang in Blue defeated Unpredictable 15 to 5 while Fight Back had to split the points with Minimax Forwarders. That meant Gang in Blue extended its lead to 6.5 games.

Matthew Viney rolled a 236 on his way to a 650 series. Anthony Smith had the high game with a 247 (620 series) while Kelvin Burt (236) and David Maycock (617) also rolled well.

Ronnette Burgess led the women with a 236 game, but it was Juanita Darrell who had the high series with a 587, thanks in part to her 221 game.

Edna-Mae Tuzo used her 212 game to bowl a 583 series while Jennifer Stovell had a 569 series.

Barritt’s League

Gilbert DeCosta rolled a 224 on his way to a 570 series.

Oscar Andrade also had a good night as he had a 217 series and 527 series as did Donald Dane with his 207 and 537.

Scores: Haascobe 21, Bye 9; Team Bouchee 12, Pin Raiders 18; Sparks 10.5, Pembroke Juniors 19.5. The match between Young Bloods and PH Club was not played.
