Braves do it better, increase lead

DC Braves opened up a one game lead over Sweet Life in the Commercial Bowling League after blanking Do It Best.

Sweet Life beat Royal Gazette 3-1 to bring its overall record to 10-2. Aesop Smith led the 200 game hit parade with a 209. Anthony Smith (208) and Christopher Leverock (200) also reached the mark. The top women were Earleen DeSilva (177), Tiffany Glasford (172) and Nathalie Adderley (166).

Adderley had the high handicap series with a 630 while the top man was Smith at 648. Other well-bowled series included Zina Jones (609), Mary Gaye Dean (583), Sharon Gibson (583) and Patray Honore (641).

Continental Bowling League

Spicenix's flavour was too much for Quickie Lickie Laundry in this battle for first place. Quickie Lickie went into the match ahead of Spicenix but were left hung out to dry after a 26 to 4 cleaning.

The night saw six 200 hundreds rolled with Kathy Christopher not only topping the women, but besting the men as well with a 224. Maryann Wilson had the second high score with a 211 while the best of the men was Skeets Zuill at 210. Harold Minors, Reggie Saunders and Steven Harvey all bowled 200s. Zuill had the high series with a 567 with Minors close behind with a 554. Wayne Kelly and Reggie Saunders both rolled 546s. Wilson had a 552 while Prudy Spriggs (523) and Christopher (522) rounded out the women's top three.

Mixed Majors League

Activators made a move on the top three teams with a thrashing of Gang in Blue 18.5 to 2.5. Laura Simons turned a 218 game into a 562 series. Josie Richardson also did well with her 195 as the foundation for her 556 while Ruth Lewis also had a good night (201, 547). Anthony Smith had a 228 game, slightly ahead of Chris Maycock's 222. Carl Reid had a 216 to have the third high score. Maycock had the high series with a 633; George Ben was second (586) while Smith was third (586).

Fish Bowl League

Flying Fish extended their league lead when they blanked Dolphins 4-0. Other whitewashes saw Hog Fish reel in Cow Pollies and Hinds down Tuna.

Malcolm Santucci out bowled everyone with his 211 game and 699 handicap series. Other 200s were bowled by Stephen Paul (206), and William Steede (200). Cathee Tumbridge and Ann Mitchell tied for the women's high score with a 188. Juliette Smith had a 185.

Judy Aldred had the top women's handicap series with a 629, barely edging Rebakah Darrell (628) and Smith (625).
