Blue Lanterns make debut

Richard Zuill rolls 267 game

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16: Richard Zuill had a scratch 267 game on his way to a 701 handicap series in the Fishbowl League last Friday night. Clem Lespere topped all bowlers with a 720 handicap series but Gladwin Harvey had a nice one as well with a 667.

Harvey had a 236 scratch game while Lespere was just two pins behind him.

Patrice Tucker led the women with a 205 scratch game with Cathee Tumbridge (196) and Veronica Brown (176) second and third.

Brown had the high handicap series with a 675 followed by Corrine Durrant (646), Tumbridge (633) and former world champion Joan Hollis, who had a 626.

Commercial League

It wasn’t a winning or losing start for the new teams in the Commercial Bowling League’s opening night at Warwick Lanes.

The Bermuda Police Service Blue Lanterns drew 2-2 with No Name Yet as the league expanded from 10 to 12 teams.

Sandra Ford helped the No Name Yet with her 474 scratch series while the Blue Lanterns called on Tiffany Caisey who bowled a 219 scratch game and 560 series.

Sean Perinchief was all the news for the Royal Gazette with a 247 high men’s handicap game and 648 handicap series in the RG’s 3-1 victory over Sweet Life. Mary Gaye Dean rolled well in Sweet Life’s loss with a 212 scratch game and the women’s high handicap series of 645.

Sunset’s 3-1 triumph over Do It Best was aided by Charmain Smith’s 227 handicap game and Patrick Walker’s 225 scratch game and 566 scratch series. John Adams had a 200 scratch game and 520 scratch series in the loss.

Tine Smith rolled a 180 scratch game in King Pins 2-2 draw with BTC. The telephone company called upon O’Neil Lindsay to put up a 235 handicap game.
