Barracuda fry up Hinds to gain on Fishbowl leaders

Barracuda were able to gain on the leaders in the Fishbowl League with a 3-1 victory over bottom team Hinds. The Barracuda used a 2,427 series to help propel itself to fourth place as top the teams - Marlins, Wahoo and Snappers — all lost 3-1.

The shock of the night was Orca's 3-1 win over Wahoo. The Orca were floundering on the bottom of the tables, but they pulled off a handicap high series of 2,452 to grab the win.

Other scores saw Dolphins beat Piranhas 3-1; Cow Pollies hook Tuna 3-1; Porgies fry Snappers 3-1; and Jellyfish sting Marlins 3-1. Goldfish and mackerel drew 2-2.

Peter Winsby (227) edged Joshua Bento (226) for high scratch game honours. Alpheus Santucci rolled a 213 to also top 200. Cathy Kemp led all the women with a 206.

Bento had the high handicap series honour with a 709 while Kemp once again led all the ladies with a 661.

Standings: 1. Marlins 50-26; 2. Wahoo 45-31; 3. Snappers 43-33; 4. Barracuda 43-33; 5. Mackerel 42.5-33.5; 6. Piranhas 40.5-35.5; 7. Porgies 40-36; 8. Jellyfish 40-36; 9. Goldfish 37.5-38.5; 10. Cow Pollies 37-39; 11. Tuna 29-47; 12. Dolphins 28-48; 13. Orca 27.5-48.5; 14. Hinds 27-49.

Warriors League

The Cherokee white-washed league leaders Commanche 4-0 as Johnny Binns rolled a 654 handicap series and Janice Binns chipped in a 626 series.

Chevone Armstrong helped lead the Mohawk to a 4-0 triumph over the Navaho as he bowled a 211 scratch game. Ryan Wilson contributed with a 206 for the Mohawk.

The Mohican were able to pull off a 3-1 win over the Choctaw as Linnea Masters rolled a 212 game — the highest score for the Warriors League last Friday.

The night's other contest saw the Blackfoot down the Kickapoo 3-1 in spite of Renita Minors 612 handicap series. Peter Trott had a 222 handicap game for Blackfoot.
