Former PLP MP and minister Dale Butler this week fulfilled the pledge he made when he was a parliamentarian to give part of his salary to charity.
He provided funding for the Vernon ‘Ghandi’ Burgess Music Scholarship won this year by Aaron Spencer, and the Pastor Eugene Virgil Financial Award to the Bermuda College won by Deondré Cumberbatch. Both awards were worth $500.
Mr Butler said he was pleased to have given at least 75 per cent of his salary back to his constituents and charities during his 14 years in Parliament.
