Cynics would call it an unusual sight, but the road into St. George’s was backed up to the swing bridge on Mullet Bay Road with slow moving traffic on Friday night, as Islanders poured into the ‘Olde Towne’ for the annual National Trust Walkabout.
Despite the jam of cars, travellers appeared to be in good spirits, with windows rolled down, greeting each other and pedestrians.
For my wife and I, this was the limit of our 2013 Walkabout, as having two sleeping children in the back of the car meant we had to turn around. However, the atmosphere on the slow road was a strong indication of just what a looked-forward-to event the St. George’s Walkabout really is.
The Bermuda Sun will have more photos and information about Friday’s Walkabout on Saturday…
