Have you ever wanted to participate in a Zumba class but felt that you may not be able to keep up? Do not despair. Thanks to licensed Zumba instructor Jen Ward, a new class called Zumba Gold is available to you on Wednesday mornings at the Pavilion at the National Sports Centre, starting at 9:30am. The 45-minute class has been developed as a slower -paced version of the original Latin-music infused one.
“This class is ideal for active seniors or people who may be requiring a slower pace. It’s also fantastic for people who are obese or overweight. It’s designed with safety in mind for seniors. There is less twisting and jumping but still a bit of spice…all the same Latin music,” said Ms Ward.
The cost of classes are $15 each for walk ins or $130 for a 10-class punch card. Residents who are members of Age Concern and CORE will receive a discount on the punch cards.
Next Wednesday, Ms Ward will be offering her Zumba class free of charge but spaces are limited. If you are interested in attending, e-mail [email protected] or call 335-0071.
