Bermuda’s Women’s World Cup campaign begins on Friday when they take on the Turks & Caicos Islands.
The team are taking part in the Caribbean Football Union’s Women’s Caribbean Cup and are also grouped with the Cayman Islands and St Kitts and Nevis.
There are five groups with each of the winners advancing as well as the two best second-place teams. Those teams will play in the final round, along with hosts Trinidad & Tobago, in August.
Bermuda’s team does not have an official FIFA ranking because it has been inactive for more than 18 months, but currently has 950 points. But Bermuda is not alone in that regard as the St Kitts, Turks & Caicos and the Cayman Islands are also in the same boat and have 974, 963 and 847 points respectively.
Bermuda will play the Cayman Islands on Sunday, May 25, with the third and final group game being set for Tuesday, May 27, versus St Kitts & Nevis.
